Tea Party Anyone?

If you read my last journal post, you know I’ve been in a bit of a transition process and have recently moved. After the perfect opportunity presented itself, I took the plunge and started packing.  I quickly discovered that I have acquired ALOT of fun art supplies, hung on to many old clothes and have enough vintage tea cups to have a tea party!

‘Quaint’ is a good word to describe my new studio.  I moved into a vintage, early 1900’s tiny home which perfectly matches my vintage floral paintings in a neighborhood with other historic homes, huge trees and little sidewalks. However, to make all that happen, single-handedly except for move day, creativity could not co-exist. It’s a sad day when you have to pack up your beloved paintbrushes and don’t know when you’ll be able to paint again. Projects got put on the back burner and ideas needed to be recorded so I don’t forget them (thanks, old age!); all with the hope & faith that everything will be unpacked and productive again.  I missed painting immensely when I had to pack up my little ‘Art Nest’. It amazes me how creativity fills the soul and truly does heal the mind, body & spirit when it’s unpacked in a loving space. I KNOW this to be true but perhaps a reminder is essential every once in a while. Going forward, I vow to live each day, in an art-filled way, share art with others, and have that tea party!  Come join me.
